Jack Pachuta

By now, your head is undoubtedly reeling with questions. As an experienced Chief Inspector, I've anticipated your key queries.

Why are you selling your murder mystery business?

In recent years, I’ve eased my relentless pace as

Chief Inspector of my mystery enterprise — not

out of fatigue, but out of choice. After decades of

plotting crimes, crafting clues, and leading eager

sleuths through tangled scenarios, I decided it was

time to “smell the roses” and savor the rewards of

my investigations. The business, once a whirlwind

of suspense and sleuthing, has settled into a

comfortable rhythm — steady, reliable, and rich

with satisfaction.

This quieter tempo has enabled me to balance my

whodunit endeavors with the joy of travel, the

warmth of family gatherings, and long conversations

with friends who prefer stories that end in laughter

rather than in handcuffs.

Of course, I’ll never be one to simply sit still. My next chapter will be a well-paced blend of mystery and artistry — accepting and initiating new writing projects while pursuing the creative intricacies of printmaking. The detective in me will always be curious; only now, the clues I follow will be drawn in ink, colored pencils, and imagination.

What is the selling price of your business?
Like any good mystery, the next chapter of this story won’t be dictated by a single number — it will unfold through discovery, dialogue, and deduction. Your investment in this unique opportunity isn’t chiseled in stone. Instead, it will be shaped by your ambitions and your vision for the future.

Over the years, my whodunit world has grown many intriguing tentacles — live performances, downloadable cases, corporate programs, challenging writing ventures, kids mysteries, mystery theater scripts, and more — each one a different piece in a grand puzzle.

You may not wish to pursue every one of them, and that’s where the art of negotiation enters the scene. Together, we’ll examine the evidence, weigh the motives, and determine a fair and equitable path that makes your transition to Chief Inspector both rewarding and satisfying.

Though I’ll be relinquishing my well-worn investigator’s mantle, I seek not merely a successor, but a kindred spirit — someone who will take this enterprise and let it flourish anew.

The conclusion, then, is simple: there is no fixed price for the sale. My compensation will reflect your skills, your enthusiasm, and the enduring legacy of the mysteries I’ve created. In true detective fashion, the solution will be found through mutual understanding — and a touch of intuition.

Will you be there as I start my murder mystery career?

Once we’ve reached our agreement on how the handover will unfold, rest assured you won’t be stepping into the mystery business alone.

For the first 60 days, I’ll remain by your side via Zoom, serving as your consulting detective as you learn the intricate workings of this enterprise. You’ll have full access to my experience, insights, and the countless lessons gathered from years of sleuthing through both online and live adventures — all at no charge.

Think of it as a final case we’ll solve together: the Case of the Seamless Transition. I’ll reveal the hidden clues that make the business function, introduce you to its recurring characters, and ensure you have the confidence to take the lead when the time comes. And should you wish to summon me for a special project afterward, I’d be delighted to reverse our roles — you as the Chief Inspector, and I, your loyal consultant, following your directives.

In other words, my dear colleague, you won’t be left alone in the fog. I’ll be there to guide you through every twist and turn until you’re ready to conduct the investigation entirely on your own.

What is your timeframe for selling the business?

There is no ticking clock on this transaction — no ominous deadline looming in the shadows. A good detective knows that timing is everything, and in this case, patience is part of the plot. The mystery products I’ve created are more than stories; they’re a legacy — a trail of intrigue, laughter, and discovery that I intend to leave in capable hands.

That’s why I’m in no rush to close the case - it could be tomorrow, next month, or next year. I want to ensure that whoever steps into my role understands both the artistry and the responsibility of the work. Perhaps that means one worthy successor who purchases it all . . . or perhaps several, each taking up a particular strand of the web — the live performances, the downloadable whodunits, the corporate intrigue.

Ultimately, the sale will depend upon finding the right individual — or team of sleuths — whose demeanor, passion, and integrity align with the spirit of the mysteries themselves. When that moment arrives, the agreement will be fair, the exchange honest, and the legacy secure.

Until then, my magnifying glass remains polished and waiting for the correct new hands to hold it.
